WASHINGTONVILLE, Ohio -

Residents and business owners in Washingtonville no longer have to boil their water before drinking.

The village has lifted a boil alert that was issued on Monday as the Ohio Department of Transportation worked to lower a water line while replacing a culvert along State Route 14.

The highway is shut down at Lisbon Road through May 2 until the construction work is completed.

The suggested detour is U.S. Route 62 to State Route 14T to U.S. Route 62 to State Route 165 to State Route 46.

The construction is part of a $900,000 project to replace culverts along various routes in Mahoning County.
