New and disturbing details in connection with the death of Warren teenager Alesha Bell.

Ashtabula County Prosecuting Attorney Nicholas A. Iarocci says investigators believe that Bell was a victim of human trafficking at the hands of James E. Brooks.

"There are others that were involved in his human trafficking ring. But we believe Alesha Bell was part of it," Prosecutor Iarocci said.

The prosecutor believes Brooks other human trafficking victims were also from Trumbull County.

"The ones we know of there were around seven or eight. But there could be more. But we have information on less than ten. I think most of the victims if not all of them are out of Trumbull County. But they found their way here to Ashtabula County at his residence in Roaming Shores," Prosecutor Iarocci tells 21 News.

Along with prostitution authorities say they can prove that drugs including heroin played a major role in the human trafficking ring.

"These women relied on the drugs that Mr. Brooks supplied them to be part of this prostitution ring, the drugs, including heroin and cocaine were an intricate part of the prostitution ring," Prosecutor Iarocci said.

And even though Bell knew Brooks at some point she became afraid of him, even texting her mother that she was scared.

Prosecutor Iarocci tells reporters, "There did come a point when Alesha was afraid for her life. We have evidence that supports that. And it was a short time there after that her remains were found at that Roaming Shores residence."

Authorities believe the human trafficking dates back to at least May of 2014. But the prosecutor says he believes it has been going on for much longer than that.

On Tuesday the Ashtabula County Grand Jury issued a new indictment against Brooks.

The new charges are twelve felonies including:

1) Involuntary Manslaughter (in commission of kidnapping)

2) Involuntary Manslaughter (in commission of abduction)

3) Trafficking in Persons (aka Human Trafficking)

7) Compelling Prostitution

8) Gross Abuse of a Corpse

9) Aggravated Possession of Drugs

10) Possession of Cocaine

Brooks remains jailed in Ashtabula County on both federal and state charges.
