Troopers ID suspect from Brookfield hit-and-run

Posted: Updated:

Ohio Highway Patrol investigators suspect that alcohol played a part in a hit-and-run accident in Brookfield that sent one person to the hospital.

Troopers say they have identified Ronald Sanata, 62, of Brookfield as the driver of a 2000 Toyota Camry that struck a man has he was walking along Cleveland Street Monday night.

Nineteen-year-old Tyrone Cornish was taken to a hospital with injuries that the patrol says were not life-threatening.

The patrol located the suspected driver that same night after receiving tips linking the Camry to Sanata.

According to the patrol, Sanata told them that he thought he hit something, but didn't know what.

Troopers say charges are pending.
