Liberty Walmart open again after bomb hoax

Posted: Updated:

The Walmart in Liberty Township was closed for nearly three hours as first responders investigated a bomb threat.

Police say shortly after 6 p.m. Wednesday, someone told a worker near the dressing rooms that a bomb threat was going to be called in.

The store was evacuated and bomb sniffing dogs were brought in from Youngstown State University.

Police say the threat was "unfounded" and officers at the scene found no evidence of a bomb at the store.

Police and fire crews cleared the scene, and the store was opened again.
