Police charge Men's Wearhouse manager with grand theft

Posted: Updated:

A Men's Wearhouse store manager was charged with grand theft after allegedly taking $30,000 from the store over two years.

Police say a store official accused Samuel Strine, 30, of taking the money following an investigation.

The store's security officer, Dion Spencer, told police Strine made fraudulent transactions through large return amounts to the store.

Strine allegedly issued returns on items from previous customers, resold the items at a discounted rate and kept the money from the transactions.

According to a police report, Strine submitted a written statement to police saying he made fraudulent returns, but he used the money toward other customers' purchases to improve his commission.  He denied taking the money for himself.

He was taken to the Boardman Police Department before posting bond.
