YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -

A Youngstown man was found guilty of murder in a jury trial Thursday afternoon.

The jury found 60-year-old Theodore Alexander guilty of murder and felonious assault stemming from the September 2013 killing of Ivan West.

West was found stabbed to death that night in Alexander's home on Hilton Avenue, where police say the victim was staying.

Opening arguments and testimony by Alexander's attorney John Juhasz began Tuesday following several evidence suppression hearings last year.

Arguments concluded and the jury went into deliberation around 11:00 a.m. Thursday morning.

Now that he's convicted, Alexander could face a potential 15 years to life behind bars.

Alexander's sentencing will take place at a later date.

The trial took place in Judge John Durkin's Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.
