GREENE TWP., Mercer Co. Pa. -

A man working for a Brookfield based contracting company was injured on a paving job in Mercer County.

According to state police a flagman controlling traffic for Kirila Contractors was struck during a two vehicle collision in Greene Township shortly after 5 p.m. Thursday.

The crash occurred along the 500 block of Route 58 where Kirila is wrapping up a $2.5 million road restoration project.

State police have not released further details of the accident, but say several other people were also transported to hospitals for treatment.

The stretch of road near the crash was temporarily closed to allow a medical helicopter to land.

A spokesperson for Kirila Construction had no comment when 21 News contacted the company seeking information about the condition of the flagman.
