COITSVILLE TOWNSHIP, Ohio -

Another Valley police department is reacting to word that one of their officers is the subject of a protection order and under investigation by Ohio Attorney General's office.

Coitsville police have placed Rick Jamrozik on paid leave from their department where he serves as a sergeant.

Jamrozik was placed on administrative leave Monday from the Lowellville Police Department, after being served with a temporary restraining order which bars him from carrying a gun or having contact with his ex girlfriend, Staci Kello.

The Ohio Attorney General's office tells 21 News that the Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Mahoning County Sheriff's Office are now looking into the allegations against Jamrozik.

The court order was issued after the Youngstown woman accused Chief Jamrozik of beating her on several occasions over the last year.

She also says he intimidated, harassed and threatened to kill her if she told anyone.

The Attorney General's office says the alleged assault incident is part of a larger ongoing investigation into alleged criminal misconduct on the part of Jamrozik that began in May.

Jamrozik claims Kello sent him a threatening text message, telling him she planned to ruin his career.
