After forty five weeks, the jackpot in another Queen of Hearts game in the Valley has grown to half-a-million dollars.

Forty-five weeks and half-a-million dollars. That's the story on another big Queen of Hearts game jackpot.

It's more than just bowling that's drawing thousands of people to the Skylane Bowling Center in Garrettsville. Everyday there is a steady stream of people stopping in to buy tickets for the Queen of Hearts.

Owner Aaron King says the winning queen has been elusive since before New Years, resulting in a jackpot of $500,000.  The news is out and it's bringing in people from far and wide.

"They're coming in from all around the state, we even had people from Canada come down for the drawing," King said.

The owner says he remembers how Barry Dyngles in Austintown became overwhelmed selling tickets, so he wanted to make things easier for his staff.

"When it got to $25,000, tickets would go up to $5 each or you can get five for $20," said King.   To make sure as many people as possible can see the drawing, King has taken it up on the roof of the building.

"So we climb up on the roof, and there's actually a patio behind building so they can see us from both sides when we do it," King said. For security and traffic control King has hired six members of the local police department to work each Sunday. The drawing now attracts up to three thousand people, more than the total population of Garrettsville.

"It's like everyone is very hopeful, everyone is excited and happy," said  Jeni Johannsmeier, who works at snack bar at the bowling center.  There are just ten cards remaining from the starting deck of fifty four.  Ticket sales end promptly at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday and the drawing follows at 6 p.m sharp.

The rules say you do not have to be present to win, but you only get 50% of the jackpot.

If you are present you get 90%. The other 10% is carried over to start a new game.

The Skylane Bowling Center is located on Route 82 in Garrettsville. About a 40 minute drive from Youngstown.
