Bicycle rider struck by car in Liberty

LIBERTY TWP, Ohio -

A bicycle rider was taken to the hospital after he was struck by a vehicle in Liberty Township Wednesday afternoon.

The Warren Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol says the accident happened on 6420 Belmont Avenue around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

According to OSHP, a Jeep turned southbound from a driveway on Belmont Avenue and then pulled into the path of the bicycle that was traveling northbound on Belmont.

The cyclist suffered a cut on the head but was not seriously injured.

The investigation into the accident continues and there's no word yet if any charges will be filed.
