Ohio voter registration deadline one week away

COLUMBUS, Ohio -

The deadline for Ohioans to register to vote in the November 8, 2016 Presidential Election is one week away, on October 11th.

Important dates to remember for this election are outlined below.

1,804 local issues, including levies for police and fire services as well as school funding, will appear on ballots across Ohio. A comprehensive list of local questions can be downloaded here.

Candidates for local office are certified by the individual county boards of elections. Contact information for the 88 county boards is available online here.

Register to Vote or Update Your Address

Voter registration forms are available at MyOhioVote.com. Voters who need to update their address also have until October 11th and can use the Online Change of Address System available at MyOhioVote.com.

Absentee Voting by Mail and In-Person All Ohio voters may begin voting on October 12, 2016 (first day after the close of registration) both in-person and by mail-in absentee ballot. For more information, visit MyOhioVote.com. Over 957,000 Ohioans have already requested an absentee ballot.

    Authorities in Mercer county are investigating reports of thieves skimming credit guards to steal consumers personal information. It happened recently at Wagler's Camp Perry service station in Clarks Mills.   Skimming happens when thieves unlock gas pumps and connect a skimmer to the card reader which steals information when a customer swipes a credit or debit card.
