BOARDMAN TWP., Ohio -

U.S. Marshals arrested a Struthers man accused of threatening the mother of his children and a police officer.

Michael Esposito III, 34, was booked into the Mahoning County jail on Thursday on charges of domestic violence threats and intimidation of a public official.

According to a police report, Esposito's estranged girlfriend reported that Esposito had been repeatedly calling her at the Boardman restaurant where she works.

She said that at around 6 a.m. Thursday, Esposito was pounding on the windows of the restaurant demanding that he be let in.

A police officer arrived at the business and answered the phone, refusing to let Esposito talk to his ex-girlfriend.

The officer says after he told Esposito he was going to be cited for trespassing, Esposito threatened to injure the officer allegedly adding, “when you get out of the hospital, I'll do it again. You got between me and my kids.” According to the report, Esposito threatened to punch the officer in the face.

Police say Esposito pleaded guilty to menacing by stalking in 2011 and has several previous domestic violence arrests.
