Ravenna man killed in crash on I-80 in Mercer County

LACKAWANNOCK TWP., Pa. -

A Ravenna, Ohio man died Saturday in an accident on Interstate 80 in Mercer County.

Pennsylvania State Police say 68-year-old Jeffrey Polichena was killed when his car went off one side of the highway, then veered back across both lanes, striking a guardrail.

The car was then struck by a tractor trailer also traveling in the eastbound lanes.

The driver of the truck was not injured.

PennDOT temporarily closed all lanes of I-80 eastbound between Exit 4A - I-376 East/New Castle and Exit 15 - US 19.

The road was opened again by early afternoon..

    A special visit from President Trump attracted thousands to downtown Youngstown Tuesday, though not as many as initially expected. Early estimates based on online reservations through the Trump campaign projected nearly 20,000 people headed to the city, but realistically, fewer than 10,000 filled the Covelli Centre and its outdoor overflow viewing area.
