Patrol: Driver admits using heroin before Warren Township car crash

Posted: Updated:
WARREN TWP., Ohio -

Heroin abuse may have contributed to a second traffic accident this week in Trumbull County.

First responders and the Ohio Highway Patrol were called out to the 3300 block of Palmyra Road in Warren Township Wednesday afternoon, where a Chevy Cobalt went off the road and struck a utility pole.

Troopers tell 21 News that the driver, a 27-year-old Lake Milton man, admitted to them that he had been using heroin and overdosed.

The victim was taken to St. Joseph Hospital. No one else was injured.

The patrol is still investigating.

On Monday, the driver of an SUV that flipped and hit another car in Warren, told police he had snorted heroin right before getting behind the wheel.
