UNITY TWP., Ohio -

A Sunday morning traffic accident claimed the life of an East Palestine teenager.

State Troopers say 18-year-old Trevor Walker died when the Chevy he was driving struck a tree along Waterford Road, just south of Hisey Road shortly after midnight.

Principals at the Middle School and High School will hold meetings to address the students Monday and grief counselors, both faith and non-faith based, will be available to students afterward.

According to a statement on the district's Facebook page, there will not be meetings at the Elementary school.

"We believe that those conversations with our youngest students are best handled at home. Certainly, if we can help, please contact the elementary guidance office," the statement reads.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says two juveniles from East Palestine were also in the vehicle.

Both passengers were taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, where troopers say they are in stable condition.
