25 championship rings stolen from Ohio high school trainer

Posted: Updated:

CLEVELAND (AP) - Police in Cleveland say they're looking for two dozen high school championship rings stolen from the home of an athletic trainer.

Hank Gaughan is a long-time trainer and teacher at St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland and has collected the rings over three decades.

Police say the 25 rings were stolen this past Wednesday. Gaughan says someone broke into his house and grabbed the rings and almost nothing else.

He tells WJW-TV in Cleveland (http://bit.ly/2fGtPW2 ) that each one reminds him of the championship games and the kids who played on those teams.

He says just wants the rings back, no questions asked.

Police are investigating.
