Twin sisters from Canfield inspire others

Posted: Updated:

Twin sisters, whose family was once told by doctors that they may never walk, talk or do “normal” things, have overcome their medical challenges to lead inspiring lives.

Kamryn and Reygan Long were born premature. In addition to a host of medical issues, both were diagnosed with autism.

After years of therapy, and a move to the Canfield schools, where mom says the district has "a great special education program," both girls thrived.

Just recently, Kamryn and Reygan were both chosen to be part of Canfield High School's homecoming court.

Students told Kamryn and Reygan's mom that the girls "deserved it more than anyone."

"I am so very humbled and overwhelmed by the outpouring of love for my girls, two special needs kids, Kelly Long said to 21 news. I am so proud of how far they have come and for doing things I was told they'd never do normal things."

The two freshmen are active in various sports like cheerleading and volleyball.
