Rep. Tim Ryan says President Trump needs to act like an adult

Posted: Updated:
WARREN, Ohio -

Valley congressman Tim Ryan is criticizing the timing of President Donald Trump's decision to fire FBI Director James Comey, and has some advice on choosing a new director.

21 News caught up with the congressman Saturday as he addressed graduates at commencement ceremonies for Kent State Trumbull.

Ryan said it is "outrageous" that Comey was fired in the midst of an investigation into Trump's campaign for the White House.

“We need to continue the investigation and I think quite frankly Trump needs to start acting like an adult and not like a kid throwing a temper tantrum," said Rep. Ryan.  "If he didn't like politics, if he didn't like the business and the challenges that come with it he should have never got into it. He's president of the United States. It's a very sacred office that the people have put him in"

Ryan says that whoever replaces Comey should no have any ties to the President, and should be independent and impartial of politics.
