Austintown grad catches attention of Joe Jonas with TV performance

Posted: Updated:
LOS ANGELES -

Austintown's "America's Got Talent" star Daniel Ferguson is catching the attention of more than just the celebrities he impressed during his audition.

The 23-year-old Austintown Fitch grad sang Cake By The Ocean, a pop song by DNCE, using the voices of cartoon characters.

Apparently, the band's lead singer, Joe Jonas, saw the show on NBC and liked Ferguson's act, even asking if he'd be willing to collaborate.

Jonas tweeted at Ferguson after the show aired Tuesday night saying, "you down to collab or what? Killed it on this cake cover on [America's Got Talent]."

For those who didn't see the show last night, there's still another chance to see Ferguson perform.

Ferguson was able to put smiles on the faces of all four judges, earning yes's all around and a spot in the next round.
