Posted: Updated:

A Cleveland man yelled at Warren police and animal control officers after they confronted him about a possible animal cruelty situation.

James Corbett, Jr. left his dog in direct sunlight for 30 minutes, according to witnesses. The dog was in the back of Corbett's pickup truck in a cage without water or shade.

Corbett he began screaming after Warren police started questioning him about the dog. Corbett then stepped toward the police sergeant in a confrontational manner, saying he should "do something about it."

When Warren police placed Corbett in the back of the cruiser after being handcuffed, Corbett asked if the police could roll the windows down because of the heat. He told officers to take the dog because he would not be coming back to pick it up.

Corbett was later issued a summons and released.
