WARREN, Ohio -

Warren police are investigating an incident that led to the death of 15-month-old Neveah Jones Wednesday night.

According to an official with the department, officers were called out to the 200 block of Homewood Avenue SE for a report of an infant who dispatchers said was possibly in cardiac arrest.

Officers say when they arrived at the scene they were told that the child drowned.

Radio traffic indicates that a young child was found inside a pool in the backyard of the home.

Officials say paramedics on the scene administered CPR to the child, who was then transported to Trumbull Memorial Hospital.

Police say it is very early into the investigation, but don't believe any criminal activity is involved.
