Thunderbirds arrive for this weekend's Thunder Over the Valley

VIENNA, Ohio -

Fifty thousand people are expected to attend this weekend's Thunder Over the Valley event at the Youngstown Air Reserve Station.

The main attraction, the world-famous Thunderbirds, flew in Thursday afternoon.

It has been three years since the installation's last air show.

Members of the Thunderbirds team say there will be a lot of exciting things to see this weekend.

“What they’ll see in the demonstration is six jets flying in very close formation,” said Whit Collins with the U.S. Air Force. “We’ll be exploring the max limits of the jets. We’ll be going as fast as legally allowed by the FAA. We’ll be pulling 9 G’s. You’ll be seeing four jets within three feet of each other doing loops and rolls.”

Thunder Over the Valley will take place Saturday and Sunday.

Everything you need to know about the event, including parking and security, can be found here.
