Salem drug bust nets more than $3,000 in suspected fentanyl, cocaine, and weed

SALEM, Ohio -

Police in Salem teamed up with the Columbiana County Drug Task Force Thursday to conduct a search warrant that found more than $3,000 in illicit drugs. 

According to a release, Salem K-9 Officer Argo helped the task force carry out the search order at a home on the 200 block of Hawley Street. 

Once inside the home, officers found what was believed to be more than 8 grams of fentanyl, 12 grams of crack cocaine, 3 grams of cocaine, and marijuana. 

According to the Drug Enforcement Agency, just 2 milligrams of fentanyl is believed to be a lethal dose. Meaning officers found nearly 4,000 lethal doses Thursday. 

The estimated street value of the drugs is believed to be about $3,100. 

Investigators are still testing the substances to find out their exact compound. 

No charges have been filed yet, however they are expected to follow once the laboratory tests are completed.

    A Warren resident tells 21 News that the city should make his street a dead end after a body was found inside a burning car Monday morning on the city's west side.  Fire crews were called out to Pershing Avenue SW for reports of a van fire shortly after 10 am.  During attempts to put out the blaze, firefighters called for investigators because they found a body inside.  Pershing Ave. was closed to traffic until around noon while police gathered evidence.  ...
