SALEM, Ohio -

Police in Salem teamed up with the Columbiana County Drug Task Force Thursday to conduct a search warrant that found more than $3,000 in illicit drugs.

According to a release, Salem K-9 Officer Argo helped the task force carry out the search order at a home on the 200 block of Hawley Street.

Once inside the home, officers found what was believed to be more than 8 grams of fentanyl, 12 grams of crack cocaine, 3 grams of cocaine, and marijuana.

According to the Drug Enforcement Agency, just 2 milligrams of fentanyl is believed to be a lethal dose. Meaning officers found nearly 4,000 lethal doses Thursday.

The estimated street value of the drugs is believed to be about $3,100.

Investigators are still testing the substances to find out their exact compound.

No charges have been filed yet, however they are expected to follow once the laboratory tests are completed.
