Body recovered from Mosquito Lake

BAZETTA TWP., Ohio -

A two-day search of Mosquito Lake ended Friday afternoon following the recovery of a body.

Sonar detected the body about 200 yards from shore, near the Marina.

That's not far from where authorities discovered a car believed to have last been driven on Thursday by sixteen-year-old Travis Shaffer.

Authorities have not confirmed that the body found is that of the missing teen.

The Trumbull County Coroner will make a positive identification.

Shaffer was last seen at his Fowler home by his mother at around 1 a.m. Thursday.

She tells police that he left the house driving the car that was found at the lake.

Anyone with information about Shaffer is asked to call the Trumbull County 911 Center at (330) 675-2730
