Mahoning Valley Scrappers home opener Wednesday

The Mahoning Valley Scrappers will start their six-game homestand Wednesday night one even footing, with one loss and one win under their belt.  

The Scrappers home opener on Wednesday will begin a six-game stretch at Eastwood Field. During the streak, the Scrappers are hoping to pack the stands. 

Here's what you need to know if you plan to hit the diamond for Wednesday's match-up, or any of the homestand games:

Wednesday, June 20th- Scrappers vs. Auburn
Gates Open 6 p.m.
First Pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. 

  • First 2,500 fans will receive a magnet schedule courtesy of Mr. Rooter Plumbing. 
  • Wendy's Wednesday! Get BOGO upper box seat tickets with a Wendy's receipt or voucher from any participating Wendy's location. 

Be sure to stick around for the biggest fireworks show of the season sponsored by 21 WFMJ, WBCB, NECA/IBEW Electricians,  and fireworks courtesy of Phantom Fireworks.

Jess Briganti predicts picture perfect weather for the game. Briganti says the Scrappers will cap off the first full day of summer on the diamond with sunny skies, and temperatures in the lower 70's by first pitch at 7:05 p.m. 

Thursday, June 22nd- Scrapper vs. Auburn
First Pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.

  • The first Buck Night of the season presented by PNC Bank, the Scrappers will feature $1 General Admission tickets, hot dogs, and drinks. 
  • It is also Wrestling Night in anticipation of Wrestling Under the Stars on Saturday, July 8 at Eastwood Field.

 Friday, June 23rd- Scrappers vs. Auburn
First Pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.

  • 21 WFMJ is proud to be a sponsor of the first bobblehead giveaway of the season. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a Francisco Lindor Bobblehead presented by Mercy Health Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine & 21 WFMJ.
  • After the game for a fantastic fireworks show will be presented by Mercy Health Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine & 21 WFMJ & WBCB. 

Saturday, June 24th- Scrappers vs. State College 
First Pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.

  • Superhero Night! The first 500 little superheroes ages 12 and under will receive a superhero youth jersey presented by Armstrong. Castle on a Cloud Entertainment superheroes will be on hand for photo opportunities.

Sunday, June 25th- Scrappers vs. State College
First Pitch scheduled for 4:05 p.m.

  • Family Fun Day presented by sponsored by the Warren Area McDonald's. It is also Pirates & Princesses Day presented by Castle on a Cloud Entertainment. Over 20 prince, princesses, and Neverland characters will be in attendance. Little princes, pirates, and princesses can purchase a special ticket package to include a gift, guaranteed time with all the characters and pre-game story time with all the characters.
  •  It is also Ohio Lottery Second Chance Sunday. Bring any non-winning Ohio Lottery ticket to the Mr. Rooter Box Office for a buy one get one Scrappers ticket.

Monday, June 26th- Scrappers vs. State College
First Pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.

  • Bring a donation of a gently used clothing item, non-perishable food item, or gently used books and receive a FREE General Admission ticket to the game presented by Pizza Joe's. 
  • It is also the College Fair beginning at 5:00 p.m. presented by Kent State University Trumbull Campus. Area juniors and seniors are encouraged to check out all the schools for a chance to receive a scholarship!
