Those in the Valley opposing the American Healthcare Act of 2017 will voice their opinions in Youngstown and Warren Monday.

Senator Sherrod Brown will kick things off at 10:30 a.m. when he delivers his message opposing Senate's draft bill to repeal the Affordable Care Act before the Mahoning County Mental Health and Recovery Board.

Senator Brown will highlight a Harvard study which found more than 220,000 Ohioans with addiction or mental health disorders have coverage under the Affordable Care Act.

He believes repealing the Affordable Care Act will kick those people off their insurance and potentially disrupt the treatments that are keeping them alive.

The senator continually criticizes President Trump budget cut decisions involving the opioid epidemic and is expected to reiterate that message Monday.

Later Monday evening, the public will have their chance to speak during the 6 p.m. Healthcare Rally in the Valley at Courthouse Square in Warren.

Organizers plan to focus on addiction in the valley and how they believe Senator Rob Portman will hurt Ohio families by supporting the repeal of the Affordable Care Act and cuts to Medicaid.

Supporters of the "Obamacare" will have the floor until 7:30 to give testimonies about why the Affordable Care Act and Medicaid have helped their families.

The event is sponsored by Valley Voices United for Change, Rust Belt Progressives, Progress MV, Ohio Women's Action Network, For Ohio Future, and Indivisible Youngstown.
