YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -

Mercy Health Youngstown in collaboration with St. Patrick Church of Youngstown will host a summer screening event on Tuesday.

According to the hospital system, during the summer months, there are fewer health events offered to the community.  To help bridge the gap this summer, Mercy Health chose to host its own comprehensive health fair.
Guests will have access to the following screenings:

  • Body mass index (BMI)
  • Blood pressure
  • Bone density
  • Dental screening
  • Mammography (Note: Charges for mammography may apply based on insurance coverage.)
  • Prostate-specific blood draw

The hospital system will also have educational programming on the following topics:

  • Diabetes Education
  • Hispanic Health Program
  • Hospice of the Valley
  • Lead Prevention
  • Prescription Assistance
  • Radiology Services
  • Resource Mothers – Centering Pregnancy
  • Stepping Out
  • Tobacco Cessation

Each guest will receive a warm meal, as well as a grocery bag full of food and a hygiene bag filled with toiletry items.

Community members who are in need of transportation to the event can make arrangements for a Catholic Charities shuttle service by calling (330) 480-3405. Participants must pre-register for prostate screenings by calling (330) 480-3405 and for a mammogram by calling (330) 480-2654.
