Cops: Pennsylvania man ran over wife while driving drunk

Posted: Updated:

LEVITTOWN, Pa. (AP) - A Pennsylvania man has been jailed on charges he ran over his wife after she fell from their vehicle which police say he was driving erratically while drunk.

Falls Township police say 31-year-old Andrew Ryan swerved across the Lincoln Highway on Monday, causing the woman to fall out an unsecured door of his truck. She was then run over by a landscaping trailer he was pulling.

Police say the Warminster man fled the scene while bystanders tended to his wife, who was critically injured.

Police caught up to Ryan a short time later and he acknowledged they were arguing about finances before he let her fall out of the truck.

Online court records don't list an attorney for Ryan who remained in the Bucks County jail on aggravated assault, drunken driving and other charges.
