Muscle Connection H.S. Football Preview: Austintown Fitch Falcons

The Fitch football team is looking forward to the 2017 season after a 5-5 record last year.
"We have 15 letter winners back, 13 starters and we're going to have to play at the top of our game week in and week out," said veteran Coach Phil Annarella.

The Falcons return four starters on offense and seven on defense, including Joey Zeilinski. "He wound up being our quarterback at the end of the year and was our leading tackler on defense as a linebacker," Annarella said.

Others expected to play a role are Randy Smith, Jakari Lumsden, Nick Bush and Nate Armstrong.

With the numbers of players down from a year ago, Annarella expects to use more two-way players. "You always hope that supporting cast, that somebody comes through and surprises you and works their way into the starting lineup."
The Falcons are not sure at the quarterback spot and are going to let the position play out.  "Dom Monobano and Deandre McKeaver are pushing to play, and at any level, you know how important that position is," Annarella said.

The Falcons open their season against Hudson.
