POLAND, Ohio -

One of the many coaching cliches is "you make your biggest improvements from week one to week two."

In the case of the Poland football team, second-year coach Ryan Williams wants to make his biggest improvements from season one to season two.

The Dogs return six starters on both sides of the ball, including third-year quarterback Cole Kosco.

"He's been there as a freshman, a sophomore, all the skills, and all the tools are there and we're hoping to put things together for him," Williams said.

The Bulldogs also have four offensive linemen back.

Defensively, the Bulldogs have a good nucleus to build around. " Nick Miller is at outside linebacker, Cole Lavorini has been there for a couple of years, so our linebackers are kind of our strength," Williams said.

"Al Catsoules is back and had a school record tying 10 sacks as a defensive lineman, so we're looking to move him around a bit, utilizing his quickness," Williams said

Others the Bulldogs are relying on tight end Donte Ruozzo and lineman Drew Davies.

They have a big senior class with 20 players and 60 overall players.
