OIL CITY, Pa. -

A bridge on Route 19 in Coolspring township is closing Monday for repairs.

The bridge over Otter Creek is around four miles north of where Route 19 intersects with Route 62, and two miles south of where SR 19 intersects with Fairview Road.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said work on the bridge is expected to be completed by August 26.

The concrete bridge was built in 1930, and is currently classified as structurally deficient. The bridge is going to be replaced with a reinforced concrete box culvert.

PENNdot said around 2,200 vehicles use the bridge daily.

Cars and bicycles that use the bridge are told to take the detour that uses Route 58, Delaware Road and Main Street or Mill Street and Fairview Road.

Trucks are told to take the posted detour on Interstate 80, Interstate 79 and Route 358.
