HANOVERTON, Ohio -

The United football team is looking for its first playoff appearance since 2014.

Third year coach Mike Demster got the word out and increased the roster by 15 players from a year ago.

"The strength and conditioning class that we have here in school has really allowed me to meet a lot of kids and recruit a lot of kids. In addition to that, I do have two lunch duties that I'm constantly rotating around the cafeteria. We're just trying to get kids out and increase our numbers in the program overall," said Coach Demster.

The Eagles return third-year quarterback Nathan Michaels along with running back Kade wood.

"We don't want to say we're building an offense around one guy. We've got a lot of talent. A lot of returning lettermen. A lot of experience. A lot of great skill guys, returning four of the five linemen. So our goal is to be balanced, get the ball around to everybody, and try to be offensively explosive," Demster said.

That explosiveness starts up front. "We have our returning center, Kyle Bailey. He's a three-year starter. We have two guards, Gary Ikler and Andrew Dulack, who are two-year starters. We return left tackle Toby Richmond. We have two to three guys going for the right tackle spot," said Demster.

Defensively things are even better for the Eagles. "Returning eight of them will be a little closer to two platooning than we've ever been since I've been here. With so many upperclassmen, obviously, we want to get our best players on both sides of the ball," said Demster.
