Youngstown and Boardman Mercy Health hospitals get top rankings

Posted: Updated:
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -

A new report on hospital rankings has been released, and two Mercy Health hospitals in Mahoning County are listed among the top facilities in the state.

Of the top 26 hospitals In Ohio ranked by U.S. News & World Report, St. Elizabeth in Youngstown is number 18 and St. Elizabeth in Boardman is 22nd. It comes as the Boardman facility is marking its 10th anniversary.

"We opened with a cancer center, later added an emergency department, out patient services, and diagnostic services, but it was August of 2007 that we matured into a full fledged hospital," said Genie Aubel, President of St. Elizabeth Hospital in Boardman.

Aubel says they are proud of the services they continue to provide the community and are pleased that it's been recognized by the outside ranking bodies.

No local hospitals were ranked nationally.
