Interstate 80 eastbound open again following crash

Posted: Updated:

Interstate 80 just east of Mercer County is open to traffic again after an accident shut down the road earlier Wednesday.

PennDOT announced shortly before 2:30 pm that Interstate 80 eastbound in Venango County was closed from Exit 29 (Route 8, Franklin-Oil City-Barkeyville) to Exit 35 (Route 308, Clintonville) due to a tractor trailer crash.

The truck rolled onto its side, blocking both lanes of traffic.

State police say no one was seriously injured. They continue to investigate the crash.

PennDOT said the roadway was open again before 4 pm.
