Youngstown Police: Landlord uses weapons to get renters out

Posted: Updated:
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -

Youngstown police were called to a residence on East Judson Avenue where a caller stated that the landlord of his rental house broke in and was pointing a gun at him.

Thursday evening, police investigated the home where the renter felt threatened and unsafe.

Home-owner Troy Keslar stated that he went to an eviction hearing earlier that day but had no documentation to prove it, according to police.

Police say that Keslar was sending pictures of himself inside the home when the renters were not there. When they got home, they found the front door kicked in. The front door had apparent heavy damage.

Police say when Keslar was asked if he had a hand gun he said no but did admit to having a taser pulse and a black holster.

According to police, it looks similar to a small handgun and was mistaken by the renter.

Keslar, a prior convicted felon, is being charged with weapons under disability and aggravated menacing.
