YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -

Youngstown State University is working to develop new technology to help battle addiction.

The University filed a letter of intent asking for $350,000 to take steps towards fighting Ohio's opioid crisis. The grant money is part of a program that was announced earlier this year by Governor John Kasich.

The program was created to develop new ideas to battle the epidemic and is listed as a new health technology that aims to stop addiction before it takes hold.
