Police are investigating after a toddler was found shot in the thigh Sunday night.
The two-year-old was initially taken to Northside Hospital and then flown to Akron Children's Hospital in Akron.
Authorities have not released the boy's name or condition.
Youngstown police patrol officers searched an address at 354 Parkcliffe looking for evidence.
That's believed to be the family's residence.
However, Liberty Police Chief Rich Tisone tells 21 News the shooting occurred in the 3000 block of Northgate Avenue in the Township.
The little boy's mother was interviewed by Liberty Detectives, and police are being told the two-year-old somehow shot himself.
It's unclear how the child got a gun.
Police say no gun has been recovered, but one shell casing was located.
