Authorities in West Virginia have arrested a man that the local sheriff is calling one of the “kingpins of meth.”

Adam Gissy, Sheriff of Lewis County West Virginia said that Steven Kacenski, 46, of Warren is charged with delivery of a controlled substance.

According to the Sheriff, Kacenski was arrested Wednesday morning at the Hampton Inn in Buckhannon, West Virginia, about 130 miles south of Pittsburgh.

Kacenski was caught in a covert drug operation when he allegedly sold two ounces of crystal methamphetamine to a confidential operative for $3,200.

Kacenski is wanted back in Ohio on dangerous drug and child neglect charges, according to Sheriff Gissy.

“The arrest of Mr. Kacenski was huge for our region as it relates to meth distribution. All indications suggest that Kacenski is one of the proverbial 'kingpins' of meth,” Sheriff Gissy said in a media release.

Authorities also arrested Bryan Wanless, who was with Kacenski at the time.

Wanless had alprazolam and methamphetamine when he was arrested and is charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Kacenski is being held in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail on $75,000 bond.
