Troopers find pot, edibles during Ohio Turnpike traffic stop

A couple from Pittsburgh spent some time in jail after state troopers say they caught them with marijuana and marijuana edibles worth $4,900.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol stopped the rented Hyundai on Sunday for speeding and driving without headlights along the Ohio Turnpike in Sandusky County.

After finding a bottle of liquid THC, troopers searched the car and found more than 1 pound of marijuana and 234 grams of marijuana edibles.

The contraband has a street value of $4,900, according to the patrol.

The driver, Melika M. Beasley, 27, and passenger, Davaghn Copeland, 25, both from Pittsburgh, were booked into the Sandusky County Jail on charges of trafficking in marijuana.
