YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -

Colorful new vinyl stickers are being placed on utility boxes in Youngstown.

YSUscape announced the first phase of their utility box vinyl artwork project has been completed thanks to funding from the Raymond John Wean Foundation's Neighborhood SUCCESS Grant.

The public art project installed vinyl stickers onto gray utility boxes around the downtown area and near the Youngstown State University campus.

YSU art students, local artists and institutions like the Purple Cat, the Butler Institute of American Art and the 'City of You' branding campaign all submitted art for the project.

YSUscape said the second phase of the project is going to be completed in the upcoming weeks.

The organization plans on expanding the public art project so they can cover more utility boxes in the spring.
