Teen pleads guilty in crash that killed 16-year-old girl

CLEVELAND (AP) - Authorities say the teenage driver of car that crashed and killed a 16-year-old passenger has pleaded guilty in juvenile court to charges including aggravated vehicular homicide.

Cleveland.com reports the 17-year-old driver also pleaded guilty Tuesday to aggravated vehicular assault in the 2017 crash that killed Kailee Mayher. Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court records show prosecutors dropped two counts of aggravated vehicular assault as part of her plea.

Authorities say the car carrying six teenage girls left the road and crashed into a tree in the Cleveland suburb of Strongsville on the night of June 7.

Strongsville police said three passengers were hospitalized. The driver and another 16-year-old passenger weren't injured.

The driver will be sentenced March 6.

The Associated Press generally doesn't identify juveniles charged with crimes.
