Teen killed by stray shots in Philadelphia; 2 others wounded

Posted: Updated:

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Authorities say two teenagers standing in a driveway were hit by stray bullets when two shooters opened fire on someone running across a Philadelphia street, leaving a girl dead and the other teen critically wounded.

The shooting occurred shortly before 11 p.m. Friday. A 16-year-old boy was also wounded in the shooting, but it's not clear if he was with the other teens when the shooting started.

Authorities say the shooters fired at least 22 shots, hitting the 17-year-old girl in the neck, leg and back. She died a short time later, while the 17-year-old boy with her remained hospitalized Saturday in critical condition with gunshot wounds.

Authorities say those teens were innocent bystanders.

The other wounded teen was shot in the leg. Further details about him were not disclosed.
