YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -

A vacant building on Market Street in Youngstown caught fire Wednesday night.

Officials say the fire started at 9:30 near W. Laclede Avenue.

At least seven fire trucks are on scene working to put the fire out.

Crews say when they arrived on the scene, smoke was pouring out of the second floor.

Youngstown Fire Chief Finley says the building has been vacant for at least a year or two.

Finley says the back door to the building was not secure, so officials did a thorough check of the building to make sure no one was inside.

Finley thinks the structure is an old office building.

Chief Finley also told 21 News all Youngstown fire stations are open.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

Fire crews are still on scene.

Youngstown Police are directing traffic.
