YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -

A Canfield man convicted in a child pornography case will be released from prison after serving just a quarter of a four-year prison sentence.

Seventy-year-old Paul Clymer, who has been held in the Noble Correctional Institution since May of last year, was granted an early judicial release by Mahoning County Court Judge Scott Krichbaum.

Judge Krichbaum sentenced Clymer to four years in prison after he pleaded guilty to two counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material, as well as fifteen counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor.

As part of the sentence, the judge ordered that Clymer must register as a Tier Two sex offender and remain on probation for five years when he completes his time in prison.

At a hearing on Thursday, Clymer was told those conditions still exist, he must register as a sex offender and will be on probation for five years.

Clymer's was sentenced nearly five years after authorities searched his home on Colonial Drive.

Agents from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation's Crimes Against Children Unit confiscated computers and other electrical devices from Clymer during the search.

Forensic experts examined the devices and found images and videos of children engaged in sexual situations.

In some instances, authorities had no way of knowing the actual age of the girls depicted, but one was identified as being two years old on the video was still sucking her thumb.

Investigators say Clymer shared some of the pornography over the internet with an undercover agent.

Clymer's defense attorney filed the motion for early judicial release in March.

If Clymer had served his entire sentence, he wouldn't have been released from prison until April 2021.
