Muscle Connection H.S. Football Preview: Poland Bulldogs

Posted: Updated:

Poland Bulldogs | Players: 60 | Offensive Starters: 6 | Defensive Starters: 2 | Seniors: 20

The Poland football team returns six starters on offense, led by senior quarterback Cole Kosco.

"He brings lots of experience and obviously has been a part of a lot of football games." said second-year coach Ryan WIlliams.

The Bulldogs are counting on Kosco and some new guys to carry the football. "We have two guys in Jake Rutana and Josh Alessi and we have Nick Latanzio back. So we're hoping to give him some carries as well," Kosco said.

Defensively, there could be some growing pains with only two starters back. "We have Scott Campbell on the d-line and we're counting on him to anchor that line and Eric Shipskey is back. But other than that, we're going to need to replace quite a few starters," said Williams.

The success of the Bulldogs could depend on younger players grasping the system. "We go to get mistakes out the way early," said Williams. "We need to improve the way we do things."

The Bulldogs open the season against Marlington.
