Crowd lines up to buy used appliances at YSU

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -

Youngstown State University is making bargain shoppers dreams come true by holding a huge appliance sale today on campus.

Long lines of people have already taken part in purchasing the discounted appliances.

Refrigerators, electric stoves, dishwashers, over-the-range microwaves and ceiling fans from the University Courtyard apartments went on sale at 12 p.m. Thursday and will continue to be sold until 4 p.m. Thursday. 

The sale is taking place in the R23 parking lot next to the apartments on the east side of the YSU campus.

According to the university, there were 50 of each appliance and 25 ceiling fans to start with. The refrigerators are between six and seven-years-old. The other appliances are 15-years-old.

Refrigerators are priced at $75, stoves $10, dishwashers $5, microwaves $5 and ceiling fans $5.
