Vienna driver charged for running red light, hitting Howland cruiser

A 51-year-old Vienna man is facing charges after allegedly causing a car crash involving a Howland Police Department cruiser. 

The Trumbull County post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol says Rajesh Baji was cited with failing to stop at a red light. 

According to Trumbull Ohio State Highway Patrol, the Howland Officer was driving north on 46 in the left lane getting ready to turn left onto 82 westbound.

Baji was allegedly traveling south on 46 and ran a red light, while the officer had a green arrow to turn west onto 82.

OSP told 21 News that the officer was taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries. He has since been released.
