BOARDMAN TWP., Ohio -

Boardman Police say a 14-year-old girl is facing charges after a steak knife was found in her backpack.

According to a police report, the principal of the school became aware of a video posted to social media showing the female student with a pistol on her lap and several cell phones. The student allegedly claimed in the posting that the phones were stolen and she was willing to sell them.

Police say the student was removed from class and her backpack and locker were searched.

While searching the student's locker, school officials allegedly found a second backpack with a steak knife in the front pocket. The school officials reportedly searched the girl's backpack she had with her and found several cell phones that matched the ones in the social media post.

A police report says that the girl was unable to provide information about where the phones came from but said they belonged to some family members.

Police say the teen was arrested and taken to the juvenile detention facility, where she was booked on a charge of illegally conveying a weapon into a school safety zone.
