Dog removed from Warren home receives emergency surgery

WARREN, Ohio -

Humane officers are investigating after a dog had to be removed from a Warren home. 

The Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County tells 21 News a dog named Zeus was taken from a home in Warren over the weekend. 

Zeus was taken into emergency surgery to remove a metal chain that had been wrapped around his neck and become ingrown. 

Animal Welfare League says the dog will stay in their custody until the investigation is complete. 

Three other dogs were left on the property, which is why investigators say they will not reveal the location of the owners of the dogs.
