ST. CLAIR TWP. -

Protecting K9 Heroes announced via Facebook on Wednesday that K9 Noras of the St. Clair Township Police Department, located in East Liverpool, Ohio, has been granted a Multi-Threat Ballistic Vest.

Donations to Protecting K9 Heroes are what made it possible for K9 Noras to receive the vest.

According to the post, K9 Noras is assigned to Officer Joshua Jackson of the St. Clair Township Police Department.

Noras is a two-year-old German Shepard certified in Patrol, Tracking, and Narcotics.

Protecting K9 Heroes informed that Noras enjoys going to work and playing with his siblings. He does not like being brushed, or the sound of chainsaws.

Along with the safety vest, K9 Noras also received a Naloxone (Narcan) Reversal Overdose Kit and a K9 Medical First Aid Kit.

According to Protecting K9 Heroes, the Multi-Threat Ballistic Vests are manufactured by Armor Express and weigh approximately 4-5 pounds based upon the ballistics level chosen by the handler.

Each vest is custom sized for each K9 and has a warranty of five years.

Protecting K9 Heroes NFP Ltd is a 501c3 nonprofit organization.

They help protect K-9's through donations and support from the community.

They inform that it is their mission to reduce the amount of K-9 related deaths throughout the United States by supplying as many of them with the protection they need.

They offer Multi-Threat Ballistic Vests, K9 First Aid Kits, and Naloxone Overdose Reversal (Narcan) Kits.

To make a tax-deductible donation, you can donate through thier website at www.protectingk9heroes.com or checks can be mailed to: Protecting K9 Heroes P.O. Box 422 Glenwood, IL 60425.

A vigil was held Monday night for an eight year old boy that was murdered in Union Township last week. Hundreds of people gathered for to honor Mark Mason. Family members, friends and neighbors were there to remember the young boy. Police say it was his mother's boyfriend Keith Burley that murdered Mason. The crowd prayed together and let off a hundred red balloons, Mark's favorite color. Each member of the crowd lit a candle and thought of Markie in a better place. Mark's Uncle...
